Lara Tadiotto

GREEN DE L'ESPOIR 2010 / CALENDRIER DES COMPETITIONS

Association MUCO

PRESS RELEASE

Lara Tadiotto becomes ambassador for Association Muco

Lara Tadiotto is delighted to be taking over from Nicolas Colsaerts in 2009

as the ambassador for the Association Muco, the Belgian charity that leads

the fight against Cystic Fibrosis. Their annual golf competition, Green de

l’Espoir, raises more than €90,000 towards the high costs of treating those

who suffer from this incurable disease and towards research into a future

cure.

Lara has a big heart, which she often shows in her approach to life. This is

therefore an opportunity that she is very pleased to get involved with and

to give her time and support to.

Lara said “In these difficult financial times, it is often easy for us to

focus on our own small difficulties, rather than to think about those who

are fighting for their lives. I know that it is only too easy for me to

forget how lucky I am to play professional golf and to enjoy good health.

Health problems are the worst things that can happen, the rest we can deal

with.”

Lara added “Sport is a great activity for children with Cystic Fibrosis as

the more active they can be, the better health they can enjoy. Golf is an

ideal sports ‘medicine’ for them because it keeps them active and outdoors

for a long time.”

“It keeps my feet on the ground to think about these kids. I am fighting on

the course to play my best, trying to get better every day, that is my job

and my passion. They are fighting for their lives. They are the real ‘big

stars’, not me!” Lara concluded.

“Cystic Fibrosis (CF) or Mucoviscidose is the most common life-threatening

inherited disease in Belgium and Europe. Cystic Fibrosis affects the

internal organs, especially the lungs and digestive system, by clogging them

with thick sticky mucus. This makes it hard to breathe and digest food. CF

requires an intensive, time consuming daily treatment of physiotherapy,

pancreatic enzymes, antibiotics and other medication and regular clinical

follow up. This treatment can’t cure the disease - life expectancy is still

limited - but can only help to prevent, delay or relieve the symptoms.”
